The new smartphone slider BlackBerry 9800 RIM, possibly present Aug. 3
August 3 Canadian company Research In Motion (RIM) plans to hold a kind of joint event with the telecom operator AT & T. According to observers, this day will be the announcement of the new device BlackBerry 9800, whose mission – compete with Apple iPhone 4.
Today we know that the BlackBerry 9800 is made in the form factor “slider”, equipped with a QWERTY-keyboard, touch screen, 5-megapixel camera, 4 GB of integrated memory and slot for memory card format microSD.
It is expected that the BlackBerry 9800 will be the first Pocket PC based on the new RIM BlackBerry’s operating system 6. The platform will have advanced multimedia features, among them – enhanced music library with the function of displaying album art, a new application to work with podcasts, improved camera controls, YouTube-uploader, etc.
Available BlackBerry 9800 is expected to appear in mid-August.
It also became known that RIM has registered a domain name Blackpad.com. The domain previously owned by other companies, but in 2002 its use was discontinued. It is possible that under the brand BlackPad will be presented Tablet PC, which is rumored to be developing a RIM.
