Apple changed the manufacturer of processors A5
At Apple is going to change the manufacturer its dual-core processors A5 (which operate in the new iPad 2) with Samsung’a at TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd.), Which will be produced as the current 40-nanometer generation and future 28-nm version.
According to the sources site EETimes, Samsung’s role as a competitor to Apple’s iPhone and iPad field becomes more than obvious, and in order to protect themselves from an artificial shortage and other dirty tricks Apple switched to TSMC.
TSMC is already known to most large volumes of production and supply of 40-nm processors in the world. A large production volumes for Apple can be very useful, especially given the ambitious plans for the number of delivered tablets iPad 2 and the fact that the iPhone in May likely will be applied exactly Apple A5.
