ED-7270: a medical robot like R2-D2

Science fiction is good that sooner or later it becomes a reality. For example, the Korean company has developed a robot ED ED-7270, which is very similar to the droid R2-D2 in Star Wars.
This machine is designed to work in the medical field. With the help of additional peripheral devices connected via a wireless protocol, it tracks the key vital signs of patients, including blood pressure and heart rate, and detection of abnormal performance robot sends all the necessary information your doctor.
ED-7270 is designed to work with patients in advanced age. The first tests of the Korean robot will take place in a number of clinics and hospitals in Australia. The machine supports basic voice functions (already considerable progress compared to the original R2-D2), through which he will also help patients, such as reminding them that it was time to take medicine or go to bed. And the robot has a head, with built in it a touch screen, on which the robot shows its “emotions”. The robot supports wireless protocols Wi-Fi and ZigBee, as well as technology RFID, they can be used to remotely control the machine and to communicate with peripheral devices of any kind.
